500

Today I was very pleased to open my blog and see this on the upper right hand corner:

WHA???

500 people other than me are following this blog?! That is utter madness! I know it’s not totally real because there’s some doubling up across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and WordPress itself (if you’re not following on any of those sites and you want to, now is the time! woohoo!), but STILL! SQUEE!!

I LOVE ALL OF YOU!!!!

Having this wonderful space to write my (mostly) uncensored thoughts has been a tremendous help for moving through this process of continuing therapy after Zooey’s abandonment. And, you know, life in general. My wife always reads my posts and the comments and she constantly says, “You have the best followers and commenters!”

And I really do ❤

So thank you. Really. It means the world.

As an added fun bonus for all 500 (ish) of you, I’m going to do the Three Quote Challenge that the ever-lovely Zoe over at Trash Diaries tagged me for. My dear friend E did it, too, so I mean…peer pressure, right? 🙂

So here are three of my very favorite quotes:

“Vulnerability is not weakness. And that myth is profoundly dangerous.”

– Brene Brown

“I could not stop talking because now I had started my story, it wanted to be finished. We cannot choose where to start and stop. Our stories are the tellers of us.”

– Chris Cleave, Little Bee

“I don’t think any of us can speak frankly about pain until we are no longer enduring it.”

– Arthur Golden, Memoirs of a Geisha

Alright. Happy Saturday, my lovely readers! Tomorrow is Father’s Day in probably a bunch of countries, so…extra love and good juju and compassion and hugs for all of us with shitty dads. Also – remind me to STAY OFF SOCIAL MEDIA TOMORROW! Oy.

It’s a good book – one of my faves. But not exactly “light” reading. However, it’s a story that resonates and makes you really think about the things you DO have going well for you. I know, I know. I have a personal Instagram, but I need one that isn’t so …personal. Hehe. xo

Make that 502! I follow, but through a list of bookmarks on my browser. It makes me feel more anonymous, I think. Congrats on your followers! I’m so glad you write. I relate to much of it.

Woohoo! Thanks for commenting, Jen! I totally get the need for anonymity. I’m just so glad you found me and you’re reading and you can relate. We are not alone ❤

The number of followers is in direct proportion to how much you give; Andi, you have the most comments on my site after me. And I am probably not the only one whom that is the case for.
I hope you enjoy your media-free Sunday 🙂 (that is my reminder to stay off).
